Susanna Lang is available to give a reading or teach a poetry workshop. Generally the workshops last 2-3 hours, and begin with a brief presentation on an aspect of the poet’s craft, such as form (e.g., the line), tool (e.g., the image), or theme (e.g., memory and imagination). Participants then try an exercise related to the presentation during a period of quiet writing time. In the longest part of the session, participants share and critique each others’ work. Adaptable to teens or adults.

She is also available to present on literacy instruction or consult on curriculum aligned with the Common Core State Standards.  Presentations can focus on how to integrate curriculum across the curriculum, how to incorporate literary and informational text into units of study that engage students, or how to include creative writing in a curriculum reorganized around the standards.
